L’N7700 mette in gioco le tecnologie più recenti. La più evidente è rappresentata dai suoi sette alloggiamenti per hard disk SATA che ospitano sino a 7TB di storage. Se non bastasse, l’N7700 è anche equipaggiato di una porta eSATA alla quale gli utenti possono installare un ulteriore hard disk SATA. Per trattare velocemente tutti questi dati l’N7700 è dotato di processore Intel® Celeron™ M da 1.86GHz, un gigabyte di memoria DDR, che consente molte più connessioni contemporanee e risposte del sistema più rapide. Per soddisfare le necessità delle aziende, l’N7700 è fornito di qualche altra caratteristica sbalorditiva. L’N7700 supporta iniziatori iSCSI, che facilitano agli utenti la gestione e installazione centralizzata dello storage sull’intera rete. Inoltre l’N7700 è impilabile, in modo da permettere agli utenti di collegare alla loro unità sino ad altri cinque N7700 e gestirli da un sistema master. Per gestire così tanto storage, gli utenti possono affidarsi alle molte modalità RAID dell’N7700, fra cui RAID 0, 1, 5,6,10 e JBOD. E ancora, l’N7700 è dotato di espansione RAID e migrazione di livello RAID, il che significa che gli utenti possono aggiungere hard disk più grandi negli slot disponibili e unirli a un RAID preesistente senza dover spegnere il sistema, portando così a zero il downtime "ammazza-produttività". L’N7700 è anche estremamente flessibile, e offre supporto ai filesystem ext3 e ZFS. Gli utenti possono scegliere il sistema di cui hanno bisogno e creare la capacità necessaria a diversi applicativi. Per il massimo della protezione dati e della serenità, gli utenti possono sfruttare il controllo versione dell’N7700 e la replicazione remota. L’N7700 è pure dotato di Nsync, l’applicativo di backup remoto dei dati di Thecus. Con Nsync gli utenti possono far caricare i file dell’N7700 automaticamente su un dispositivo di storage esterno a orari predeterminati. L’N7700 infine può eseguire un controllo versione su filesystem ZFS tramite funzione di SNAP istantanea, che permette agli utenti di creare e recuperare efficacemente i backup remoti.
